Peggy has created eye-catching works in pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and inks. She enjoys experimenting with different wood, paper and canvas grounds. Inspiration comes from travel, architecture, people and animals. The materials she uses to produce the textured surfaces in some of her work include collage materials, found and repurposed objects, acrylics, inks, pastels, color pencils and pens, and charcoal. She layers these with stains and varnishes, hand-rubbed waxes; cutting and sanding her work to develop unique colors and textures.
Peggy is currently exploring mixed-media paintings, prints and assemblages. Her process is unique, creating special one-of-a-kind pieces using only water-based media.

About the Artist

Peggy was born in Chicago, Illinois and is self-taught as an artist. She worked in the advertising and graphic design fields for over twenty years before turning her attention to drawing, painting and mixed media art. She is retired and has lived and worked in Austin, TX; Lafayette, LA; and Cleveland, OH. She is now living in Grand Rapids, MI.
